Commercial Trash Collection

The Dare County Public Works Department provides residential and commercial solid waste collection for all areas of Dare County, with the exception of the incorporated towns of Manteo, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Duck and Southern Shores. 

Food and Lodging Inspections Program

The purpose of the Food and Lodging Inspections Program is to educate and protect the public's health and well-being. Health inspectors visit food and lodging establishments to enforce state and local government regulations. It is the responsibility of this unit to inform establishments about state regulations and encourage set standards in the interest of public health.

Recycling

The Dare County Public Works Department operates numerous drop-off collection centers throughout the county and offers commercial pickup of materials for businesses.
