Dare County Zoning Ordinance Proposed Text Amendments
Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 6 p.m. | Dare County Board of Commissioners Meeting Room
The Dare County Planning Board will conduct a meeting to review the following two applications for proposed text amendments to the Dare County Zoning Ordinance.
Section 22-2, Definitions, “Family Child Care Home” — An increase in the allowable number of children at a Family Child Care Home in a residential setting has been increased to a maximum of 10 children, as a result of N.C.G.S. 110-26(3)(b).
MP-1 Martins Point Single Family Residential (Section 22-17.1)— An increase in the allowable dock length to 100 feet when being measured from an estuarine bulkhead for properties located on Jean Guite Creek.

North Carolina Coastal Counties Fisheries Coalition
On February 5, 2026, the North Carolina Coastal Counties Fisheries Coalition will hold a meeting at 1 p.m. at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City, NC, to discuss issues concerning the fishing industry.
