Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robert L. “Bob” Woodard, Sr. will deliver the annual State of the County presentation on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Captain George’s Seafood Restaurant, located at 705 S. Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills.
Check-in Begins at 8 a.m.
Breakfast Buffet Opens at 8 a.m.
Presentation Begins at 8:45 a.m.
Registration fee: $10.68 (includes a full breakfast)

The cost to attend this 2026 State of the County event is $10.68 per person, which includes a full breakfast, provided by Captain George’s Seafood Restaurant, as well as attendance to the chairman’s State of the County presentation.

To provide a more convenient option for Hatteras Island residents and property owners, Chairman Woodard will deliver the State of the County presentation again at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Cape Hatteras Secondary School, located at 48576 N.C. Highway 12 in Buxton.
The Buxton presentation is not a different program, but rather an additional opportunity for Hatteras Island residents and property owners to hear the same message without having to travel to the northern beaches. The presentation is themed, “Reviewing a Year of Progress in the Land of Beginnings.”
