Dropcountr is a free water use portal with a mobile app for tracking home water use to help you save water, time and money. All Dare County water customers that hold a water utility account are able to access their water use through the Dropcountr Home portal.

The portal allows water utility customers to better understand and manage their personal water use, compare it against similar and efficient households, reach water use efficiency goals, and receive important utility announcements.

Download the Dropcountr app for free from your mobile device's app store or get started online. You will need your name and account number as it appears on your Dare County Water Department utility bill.

Dropcountr is now available for Dare County Water Department customers on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as on the web with any browser.

You can access Dropcountr by:

Signing up for Dropcountr from the web portal or by downloading the Dropcountr app on your mobile device.
Downloading the DropCountr application in the Apple app store or the Android app store.
Accessing the DropCountr web portal online.

Things to Note for Customers:

Expect up to a 24-hour delay with viewing your usage.
Be sure to add your best contact phone number and verify your email address to ensure you receive alerts.
Customers have the ability to set up leak, threshold and emergency alerts via app push notifications, as well as via text and email.
- Leak alerts will be sent if three or more gallons of water are used per hour for 72 hours consecutively.
Customer accounts will automatically have an irrigation flag based on algorithms used by Dropcountr to detect irrigation use. This helps customers to monitor how much water and money is spent on irrigation.
Customers can set up "Cost Threshold Alerts" and "Usage Threshold Alerts" to track and monitor usage and their projected bill amount.
Dare County Water Department customer service representatives will use the Dropcountr Admin Dashboard to track leaks and contact customers, so please ensure that your contact information is correct.

Upcoming Events:

The Dare County Water Department will offer monthly "pop-ups" at various locations throughout the county to meet with customers and assist with signing up for the DropCountr platform. Stay tuned for a list of locations and dates.
Customers can also call the Dare County Water Department office at 252-475-5990 to set up a time to have a Dare County Water Department customer service representative provide assistance with signing up at the Kill Devil Hills office (600 Mustian Street).
