The Dare County Tax Department is pleased to offer a tool to help you search sales comparable to your home/property.

The enhanced Comparable Sales Search Tool allows users to map sales of homes within their own neighborhood. These sales have been reviewed by an appraiser and are considered to be indicative of market value as of January 1, 2025. These are the sales that were used to help determine values in each neighborhood in this most recent revaluation.

Comparable Sales Search Tool Instructions:

1. Search by address or parcel number.

2. Choose comparable sales desired in the neighborhood by choosing the “Add Comp” button. 

3. When You have made your selections, choose the “Save Comparables" PDF button at the top, near the subject property information. 

4. Expand the search by the “Refine Sales” buttons/drop downs at the top, if needed:

*The assessed value shown in the comparable sales is the 2024 assessed value. The 2025 assessed values will be uploaded once value notices have been mailed in late March 2025.

**The Comparable Sales Search Tool does not include commercial properties.
