Fessenden Center Advisory Board Members

The Fessenden Center Advisory Board is responsible for assessing the services offered at the Fessenden Center in Buxton and provides guidance on meeting the needs of those who use the facility. The Fessenden Center is a multigenerational facility that serves all of Hatteras Island with an assortment of programs and activities for youth, adults, older adults and families.

A group of 12 Dare County citizens, including a Dare County commissioner, serve on the Fessenden Center Advisory Board. Board members are appointed by the Dare County Board of Commissioners. Current members of the Fessenden Center Advisory Board are as follows:

Fessenden Center Advisory Board meetings are held quarterly at 12 p.m. at the Fessenden Center, which is located at 46830 N.C. Highway 12 in Buxton. For more information, please contact Susan Gray at 252.475.5653 or Susan.Gray@DareNC.gov.

There are separate advisory boards for the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center and the Fessenden Center. A list of advisory board members is available at the links for each facility.

The Dare County Board of Commissioners welcomes citizen participation on advisory boards. This type of grassroots public involvement is the foundation of democracy and a vital part of maintaining Dare County as a quality place to live.
