SCAM ALERT: Attention applicants for Special use Permits, Zoning Amendments, Subdivision Plats and Variances
Please be aware that Dare County has received an increasing number of reports of attempted fraud and scams related to the application process for these services. Applicants are being contacted by email, from accounts impersonating Dare County staff, requesting payment by wire transfer or other online payment methods. The Dare County Planning does not take payment for these services online or by wire transfer. Payment for these services must be done in person at one of our planning offices. If you receive one of these emails please contact the Dare County Planning office- do not to click on any links or open any attachments.
