Dare County Library Board
The Dare County Library Board of Trustees meets quarterly (January, April, June and October) on the second Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. Meetings rotate between the Dare County Library's three branches: the Manteo Library, Kill Devil Hills Library and Hatteras Library.
The board is responsible for establishing local policies within those set by the Regional Library Board and overseeing the Library Trust Fund Budget.
Eight board members, along with the Dare County Librarian, serve staggered three-terms and are appointed by the Dare County Board of Commissioners. Members may reapply after their first term to remain on the board for an additional three years; after a second term, they must wait at least three years before applying again.
