Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary with the A250 Map. Travel back in to time as we explore the history of Dare County and America itself. From the first Roanoke Voyages, to the building of lighthouses and lifesaving stations, the rich history of Dare County is on display in this map made in collaboration with the Outer Banks History Center and other local organizations.

From January 1st to November 18th 2026 you can also join us in the Dare A250 Passport Program. Thirteen locations stamped on the map have been chosen as a virtual passport location.
