Heading reads: Dare County Veterans Advisory Council & Outer Banks VFW Post 10950 Auxiliary invite you to participate in Wreaths of Honor.

Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve.

The first annual Dare County Wreaths of Honor project was coordinated by the Dare County Veterans Advisory Council along with Outer Banks VFW Post 10950 Auxiliary to place wreaths on veteran’s graves in five cemeteries across Dare County on Friday, December 5, 2025 and Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The Dare County Veterans Advisory Council and the Outer Banks VFW Post 10950 Auxiliary extend their gratitude to our community for honoring and supporting the Wreaths of Honor project. On December 5, 2025 and December 6, 2025, over 470 wreaths were placed on Veteran graves across Dare County. Despite the inclement weather, over 150 volunteers assisted with the placement of wreaths. On January 10, 2026, the wreaths were collected with the assistance of an amazing group of volunteers.

The Dare County Veterans Advisory Council and the Outer Banks VFW Post 10950 Auxiliary would also like to give thanks to the financial donors for their support.  Their kindness and generosity helped make this event possible. This event would not have been as successful without these wonderful donors and an incredible group of volunteers.

The group is already in the planning phase for the second annual Wreaths of Honor project, which will take place in December 2026. Please continue to check this webpage for more information in the coming weeks and months.
