For your convenience, a drop box for completed Voter Registration Applications, Notice of Deceased Voter, and Cancellation of Voter Registration Forms is located at the right of the steps into the Dare County Administration Building. These documents can also be mailed to P.O. Box 1000, Manteo, NC 27954.
*NC Law prohibits absentee by mail ballots from being placed in a drop box.*

Important Dates for the Upcoming Primary Election:
- Start of Absentee-by-Mail Voting: January 12, 2026
- Voter Registration Deadline: February 6, 2026
- Early Voting: February 12, 2026 to February 28, 2026
- Election Day: March 3, 2026
- Canvass: March 13, 2026
- Soil and Water Candidate Filing Begins: Noon, June 8, 2026
- Soil and Water Candidate Filing Ends: 5:00 P.M., July 6, 2026
ELECTION MEETINGS SCHEDULE
The Board of Elections meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. (unless otherwise posted). Meetings are held in the Dare County Board of Commissioners meeting room located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo, NC (unless otherwise posted).
