In celebration of the upcoming National EMS Week 2026—which will be observed from Sunday, May 17, 2026 through Saturday, May 23, 2026—Dare County EMS will host an open house event at Dare County EMS Station 1 in Kill Devil Hills (1628 N. Croatan Highway) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
The public is invited—and encouraged!—to attend the free open house event, which will feature a variety of public education materials and displays, including several equipment demonstrations, an assortment of preparedness and prevention materials, and information from multiple agencies, as well as fun activities for children and adults alike.
“Attending the open house is a great opportunity for members of the Dare County community to learn more about the essential life-saving services that are provided to residents and visitors by Dare County EMS personnel,” said Dare County EMS Director Chief Jennie Collins. “Additionally, the event will provide a unique chance to meet the dedicated professionals behind these services, ask questions, and gain practical knowledge that can help individuals and families better prepare for emergencies—and potentially even save lives.”
