Dare County invites residents and property owners to participate in an interactive Action Development Workshop on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to share key preliminary findings from a coastal vulnerability and needs assessment for Dare County that was conducted by a North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality-selected consulting firm through the North Carolina Resilient Coastal Communities Program.
Hosted by the North Carolina Resilient Coastal Communities Program, the workshop will take place in Room 238 of the Dare County Administration Building (954 Marshall Collins Drive, Manteo) and is open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore assessment findings and learn how the program is helping guide local efforts to enhance long-term coastal resilience in unincorporated Dare County.
This drop-in, open house–style event will feature a series of interactive stations where participants can:
- Learn about the Resilient Coastal Communities Program
- Review findings from Dare County’s vulnerability assessment
- Provide input to help shape future resilience strategies
Community members are encouraged to attend and share feedback on topics such as natural resources, stormwater management, infrastructure and residential adaptation. Public input gathered during the workshop will play an important role in informing future actions to strengthen Dare County’s resilience and sustainability.
