Dare County Parks and Recreation Announces Manns Harbor Park Playground Resurfacing Project

The Dare County Parks and Recreation Department has announced that the Manns Harbor Park playground will be closed until further notice beginning tomorrow (Thursday, January 15, 2026), due to an upcoming resurfacing project.

Removal of the current playground surface and surrounding mulch will begin on Thursday, January 15, 2026, with resurfacing of the playground—which is located at 6677 U.S. Highway 64 in Manns Harbor—expected to begin next week.

The Manns Harbor Park playground will remain closed until the project is completed, at which time an announcement will be posted on the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department’s Roanoke Island Division’s Facebook page and DareNC.gov

The Dare County Parks and Recreation Department appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as these improvements to our facilities are completed!
