Vendor and Sponsorship Opportunities Now Open

Dare County's America 250 (A250) Committee is pleased to announce that vendor applications and sponsorship opportunities are now available for the A250 Faire, themed “Liberty, Legacy and Liftoff in the Land of Beginnings.” The celebration will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills and is co-sponsored by the National Park Service Outer Banks Group.

As Dare County’s signature event commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary, the A250 Faire will feature live music, food and beverage vendors, local artisans, historical demonstrations, educational programming, community exhibits and patriotic festivities that highlight Dare County’s enduring spirit of innovation and discovery.

A Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary

The A250 initiative—also known as America’s 250th Anniversary—commemorates 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Across the country, communities are coming together to reflect on the nation’s shared history, celebrate the ideals of freedom and democracy, and explore how America’s story continues to shape our lives today.

Here in Dare County—proudly known as the “Land of Beginnings”—the A250 celebration will honor transformative moments in our local and national history, including the Wright Brothers’ first powered flight, early coastal settlements, maritime heritage and the pioneering spirit that continues to define the Outer Banks.

“We are thrilled to host this historic celebration at the Wright Brothers National Memorial, honoring both our county’s unique story and its connection to the larger American narrative,” said Dare County Public Information Director and A250 Committee Co-Chair Dorothy Hester. “The A250 Faire will bring our community together in a way that both celebrates our past and inspires the next chapter of Dare County’s legacy.”
