The Dare County Sheriff's Office is proud to protect and serve its community, citizens and visitors. Since 1870, Dare County Deputies have been doing their part to help make our community on the Outer Banks, Roanoke Island and the mainland of Dare County a better place to live, work and visit. With a current staff of 147 Deputies and support personnel, the Dare County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency working within various divisions. We also run a great Summer Camp for our youth.

Larceny. 100 block of Holly Ridge Road, Roanoke Island. Victim advised he was involved in a vehicle collision while riding an E bike. After receiving medical treatment, the victim returned to where the bike was left, only to discover it had been stolen.

Larceny of a Firearm. 100 block of Foxx Grape, Colington. After traveling to work and back on a bike the victim noticed their firearm missing. Under investigation.

October 8, 2025
Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 100 block of Partridge Trail, Colington. Victim sent scammers approximately $23,000 in Bitcoin after getting caught up in a TikTok / fake check scam. Under investigation.

October 18, 2025
Forgery of Endorsement. 50000 block of NC 12 Hwy, Frisco. Checks altered and deposited. Under investigation.

October 24, 2025
Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 58000 Gray Eagle Road, Hatteras. Victim reported a wallet and air compressor stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

October 29, 2025
Financial Card Theft. 100 block of Jones Circle, Roanoke Island. Victim reported unauthorized Cash App transactions on their financial card. Upon further investigation a suspect was identified and charged with the crimes.
