Public Works Trash Collection Update for Hatteras Island

Dare County Public Workshas announced that residential trash collection on Hatteras Island for the villages of Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras is expected to resume tomorrow (Thursday, October 30, 2025); however, some areas—particularly within Buxton—may be inaccessible due to debris and damage caused by this week’s coastal storm.

Commercial trash collection for Hatteras Island is also currently expected to resume its regular schedule on Friday, October 31, 2025. Additional information will be announced as it becomes available.
