Breaking & Entering Motor Vehicle with Theft Arrest

On August 13, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Deputies with the Dare County Sheriff's Office received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle in the Avon area. Soon afterward, deputies located the suspect and recovered the stolen item.

Andrew J. Knutson, M/45, from Avon, NC, was arrested and charged with Felony Breaking & Entering Motor Vehicle with Theft. Mr. Knutson was released and issued a written promise to appear in court related to the charge.

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to upholding public safety and encourages anyone with information about criminal activity to contact local law enforcement.
