Dare County, NC

The Dare County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as practicable, to consider an ordinance that prohibits the sale of Kratom products to individuals under 21 years of age and prohibits the sale of adulterated Kratom products within Dare County. This rule was adopted by the Dare County Board of Health and Human services, effective April 1, 2026.

Comments may be made during the public hearing, which will be held in the Dare County Board of Commissioners meeting room at the Dare County Administration Building, 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo, North Carolina. Comments may also be submitted via email to dcboc@darenc.gov.Following the close of the public hearing, the Board may take action on the proposed ordinance, revise the ordinance based on public input or subsequent Board discussion, or defer action to a later date.
